After the cancellation of I/O 2020, Google wanted to make a huge impact with their most important conference of the year in 2021. They weren’t able to host a crowd for Sundar’s public address to announce new technologies, so the concept of the show was “Live From Google.” We broadcasted as many announcements as possible live from the Google campus in Mountain View, and created pre-recorded films for the rest of them. We worked with an incredible production crew including director Brian McGinn, design studio Little Troop, and production designers Sing-Sing. In total I made 6 films, including the event countdown, a tour of Google’s new Quantum AI Campus in Santa Barbara, hosted by Michael Peña and a film about the impact of Google Lens in impoverished communities in Indonesia.

3 Artists 1 Song is probably Converse’s hardest hitting series. So when my partner and I got involved we knew we wanted to do something huge. We were tasked with concepting and shooting a music video to launch their spring line of colored Chucks. A–Trak, Mark Foster and Kimbra had all signed on to create the track but nothing had been composed yet. So, with only a gradient of pastel Chuck Taylors as inspiration, we came up with the idea of a colorful little hostage scenario where our artists were forced to wrestle their way out of captivity. The artists signed off on the video idea and while we started prepping the shoot, the artists started writing. An uptempo, dancey, Foster–The–Peopley track called Warrior was written, seemingly inspired by the melee we had dreamed up. We shot with the talented directing duo DANIELS on this one which was an absolute riot and the videos racked up tons of views, mentions, press and overall was a rousing success.
